Ingredients
- 500g Pasta (any variety in the pantry)
- 1 Onion
- 6 nitrate-free Bacon rashers (cut into strips)
- Broccoli
- 300ml cream
directions
- Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling water according to the package instructions, drain well.
- While pasta is cooking, moderately heat a large frypan and add your chopped bacon, stirring occasionally.
- Finely chop onion and broccoli and add to the frypan, mix all ingredients well. Allow to cook away until bacon is crispy and broccoli and onions soft.
- Add cream – mix well
- Turn off frypan
- Add cooked pasta to the pan and stir.
Creative Flare
- You can adapt the dish to include your family’s tastes – add garlic (fresh or jar).
- Don’t have broccoli? Throw in frozen peas. Don’t like greens? Add mushrooms instead.
- For those adventurous families, you can add 1 tablespoon of basil pesto at the point of adding your cream for another level of flavour.
- Like it cheesy? Finish off with grated parmesan cheese.
