Turkish Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 450g minced beef or lamb or a combination
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • bunch of fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 onion, minced
  • 2 cloves of minced garlic
  • approximately 2-3 tsp of mixed spices (cumin, coriander, paprika, dried mint, cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg and cayenne pepper)
  • salt, to taste

Directions

  • Combine all spices in a small bowl.
  • In a medium size bowl mix beef or lamb, egg, bread crumbs, parsley, onion, garlic, mixed spices and dash of salt (do not over mix).
  • Form the meat into flattened oval shape.
  • Can either be grilled or pan fried (whichever you prefer).
  • Serve with pitta or a tortilla wrap, topped with yoghurt.
